Quality Checker – Heath & Social Care
Salary: £28000 per year.
A short over view; You will be covering all locations for IDirect, Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole, Bournemouth and the Salisbury areas. this is a full time position,covering 40 hours per week Monday – Friday with an expectation to be able to visit services day or night as and when necessary.
Purpose of the Position
To support iDirect Independent Living to maintain high standards of care and compliance. As a Quality Checker, you will be responsible for completing quality checks and audits across all localities within iDirect Independent Living. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Quality & Operations teams to monitor the quality of our support delivery. You will support the team to identify areas of improvement and development, as well as support the implementation of change.
General Tasks: –
- To conduct key quality checks and audits across iDirect’s localities using an observational approach to monitor the quality of service delivery, interactions, colleague support and engagement and the environments where people live.
- Conducting periodic and focused spot checks across iDirect, including spot checks of wake night shifts as and when required.
- Recording and reporting findings in line with iDirect’s quality assurance systems and procedures.
- Liaising with all members of the management team and colleagues as required.
- Reporting actions and areas of improvement to the Senior Management team as soon as they are identified.
- To support the Senior Management Team to drive forward action plans and monitor progress.
- To provide proactive day to day support to governance processes and to assist the management team in the delivery of key area of developments.
- Working through Service Improvement Plans, logging progress and learning in line with regulation and contractual obligations.
- To support the teams with their regular service checks by following up actions and evidencing progress and improvements.
- To support the operations team with colleague competencies as and when required.
- To regularly engage with people, colleagues and stakeholders via various platforms, such as, forums, surveys, meetings or quality checks to maintain quality and identify ways to continually improve.
- To actively support and promote the involvement of people across iDirect in different workstreams, social events and organisational development opportunities.
- To advocate for people we support by recording and communicating to the wider teams the wishes and needs of people where appropriate and to facilitate people being part of decision making, promoting choice and involvement.
- Keeping up to date with latest regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements relating to quality standards, systems, and processes.
- Work closely with the senior management team to ensure iDirect Independent Living is working within the Health & Social Care Act, CQC regulations, contractual obligations and all other legislative requirements.
- To provide support in the preparation of and during CQC inspections or local authority contract monitoring visit.
- To ensure you maintain the confidentiality of people and colleagues and support iDirect Independent Living to meet the requirements of data protection
- On ad hock occasions to provide cover for shifts during business hours when required.
- To support with policy review and creation, as well as reviewing quality assurance documentation.
- Other ad hoc tasks as they arise.
